滨海电视台作为天津滨海新区传媒新时代发展的重要标志，1月13日上午，天津滨海广播电视台在原塘沽广播电视台正式揭牌成立。天津滨海新区区委副书记张继和出席揭牌仪式。 天津滨海新区区委副书记张继和，区委常委、区委宣传部部长于景森一同为天津滨海广播电视台揭牌。
为落实天津市滨海新区区委关于整合滨海新区广电资源的指示精神，塘沽广播电视台自2010年1月11日起更名为“天津滨海广播电视台”。原塘沽电视台一套、二套节目更名为滨海电视台一套、二套节目。
新成立的天津滨海广播电视台，肩负着服务新区发展的重大责任和使命，天津滨海广播电视台将坚持社会主义核心价值体系，围绕区委中心工作和新区大局，密切关注滨海新区开发开放的新形势、新目标，理顺自身管理体制、完善运行机制、加强资源整合，提升综合实力、创新办台理念、打造品牌栏目、加强队伍建设，完善产业格局，提高舆论引导水平，及时反映新区开发建设的最新进展，培育、塑造、提炼新时期的滨海精神。为打造滨海新区宣传舆论主阵地、当好文化产业主力军，进一步增强滨海新区广播电视媒介在新形势下的竞争力，做大、做强、做优滨海新区广电传媒产业做出应有的贡献。
张仁刚、杨培骥、刘宝勇等领导同志也出席了揭牌仪式。
