长沙广电数字移动传媒有限公司于2003年6月在长沙工商行政管理局正式注册，注册资本：2500万元。公司主营业务为：移动多媒体数字版权节目研发、个人智能终端软件（APP）研发、媒体广告运营；数字电视传输网络的运营、研究、开发、设计及相关的技术服务；新媒体版权节目研发、生产、发行、车载多媒体“乐乘品牌”管理及运营。
公司采用世界先进的地面数字电视技术，构建了覆盖长沙市500平方公里的数字移动电视单频网络。于2003年10月1日开始播出。这是继新加坡和上海之后，全球第三、中国第二个启动并正式投入商业运营的数字移动电视项目。目前利用该网络传输三套标清数字电视节目，后续还可以根据业务拓展需要传送更多的节目或数据业务。
移动电视除了具有正常的电视功能外，更是长沙市公共信息应急平台、公共交通信息服务平台。承担长沙市应急管理信息汇总，如天气预警、公众出行、公共卫生安全、地质灾害预警等，发挥重要传达作用。经过9年多的发展，目前多媒体平台覆盖长沙1800台公交车，3500台出租车和已经开通运行的地铁2号线以及在建的1号线、未来的3、4号线，1、2号线全长44.98公里，地铁电视于2014年4月29日正式开通，建成了拥有5300多块显示屏，长沙最具特色的户外公共交通车载移动电视媒体，信号覆盖率在长沙市达到95%以上，凭借随时随地、随身随行的传播特性创造出巨大的媒介影响力和市场价值。每天覆盖的有效收视人口超过400余万人次。
公司媒体资源集电视节目制作与播出、数字传输发射网络及车载多媒体平台维护于一体，拥有国内一流的电视节目制作采编设备与全数字化硬盘播出系统。
公司原创的“乐乘品牌” 于2012年10月正式上线。“让小小的车厢变得温暖、让短短的旅途可以乐享、让乘车变成一件快乐的事”是乐乘品牌的内涵。自制的内容可以保证每天有18小时高质量节目奉献给观众，并面相全国40余家移动电视媒体运营机构和多家视频网站输出发行品牌节目版权，拥有《乐乘资讯拼图》、《乐乘慧生活》、《乐乘美食地图》、《开心巴士》等一批脍炙人口的品牌精品节目。
