2020年1月1日起，纪实频道和艺术人文频道整合调整为纪实人文频道，艺术人文频道停止播出 。2月，频道与上海文史馆联袂推出人文专题片《海上名家——上海市文史研究馆馆员系列（第二季）》，于月10日-14日、17日-21日21:54播出 。
上海艺术人文频道于2008年1月1日开播，每天连续播出19小时，其中首播节目时间为7.5小时。它取代原先的文艺频道而诞生的，它传承了上海文艺频道和上海音乐频道的优秀节目，同时又增添了许多新的元素，成为SMG旗下最具文化特色的平台。
上海艺术人文频道于2008年1月1日开播，每天连续播出19小时，其中首播节目时间为7.5小时。它取代原先的文艺频道而诞生的，它传承了上海文艺频道和上海音乐频道的优秀节目，同时又增添了许多新的元素，成为SMG旗下最具文化特色的平台。
在全国，它是唯一一家以艺术人文来命名的电视频道。为了对每一个节目都能精心打造，上海艺术人文频道成立了十三位顶尖艺术家和文化学者组成的专家顾问委员会。
频道频道以“传递经典艺术魅力，呈现人文世界亮点”为基本目标和努力方向，节目将关注具有经典价值与意义、对弘扬与推动中华民族传统文化有充分作用、有利于提升广大受众文化品位的艺术元素。上海艺术人文频道将与上海纪实频道，以及由上海新闻娱乐频道改版成立的上海娱乐频道相呼应，为观众提供多样性、多重性的文化选择空间，从而进一步增强城市文化底蕴，在一些高层的，知识领域的观众群当中已经得到了非常好的口碑。
上海艺术人文频道为观众呈现音乐、舞蹈、戏曲、戏剧、美术、建筑、影视作品等，以全面、经典、新颖的文化传播与艺术激扬，扩大SMG在高端文化领域内的全新影响力，并致力于传播中外经典主流文化、营造媒体的艺术氛围与人文精神，推动城市精神的塑造与城市文化的成长。
