清华大学电视台创建于1990年，是清华大学宣传部（新闻中心）所属的校内新闻宣传机构。电视台通过学校教工和学生的闭路电视系统，运用新闻报道、栏目专题、实况录像等形式的节目，主要面向全校师生员工宣传和报道学校的重大事件、政策举措、基层工作及制作播放各种知识、人物、生活、娱乐类节目等。电视台拥有专业化的场地、设备和人员队伍，具备新闻、专题、报告会、演出等节目的拍摄、编辑、制作和播放能力。 清华电视台目前开设了新闻栏目《清华见闻》和《新闻快递》，以及图文信息——《清华简讯》；定期栏目《校园》、《纵横谈》、《大家讲坛》等；系列专题《清园春华》、《清华科技》、《清华人》、实况录像等。学生电视节目中还开办了《校园生活》、《外文名著欣赏》、《焦点访谈回放》、《科技节目回放》、《经典影视作品欣赏》等栏目。
