白银电视台成立于1992年10月28日，现有正式职工82人，其中大专以上60多人，高级职称3人，中级职称20多人；被市委、市政府评为新闻宣传先进单位。
经国家广电总局批准，白银电视台开设新闻综合频道和公共频道两套节目，信号覆盖全市三县二区及部分乡镇。10多年来，在市委、市政府的大力支持下，白银市的电视事业得到了较快发展。白银电视台始终围绕党委政府的中心工作，唱响主旋律，打好主动仗，坚持“新闻立台、文艺（专题、栏目）活台、经营富台、科技强台、人才兴台、管理保台”战略，在新闻宣传、事业发展、内部管理、队伍建设等方面取得了显著的成绩。
