南京电视台成立于1980年1月17日，在南京地区有三个频道播出：12频道、28频道全天播出自办节目，每天播出总量为40小时；15频道全天转播中央电视台第二套节目。
诞生在古老而美丽的南京城。南京有线电视台1992年9月28日正式开播，现设19个部门、4个公司，员工近500人，专科以上学历280余人。 南京有线电视台自办5套节目，即：有线二套、有线一套、生活频道、音乐频道、财经频道。转播39套节目，其中13套为加密传送。拥有一批深受观众欢迎的栏目，如《晚间新闻》、《纪实报道》、《评事街》、《热线900》、《健康99》、《今日生活》、《石城警视》、《花好月圆》等。多年来，有200多件作品在全国和省市评比中获奖。我台拍摄的8集电视剧《小小生命树》获得了全国"五个一工程"奖和中国电视"飞天奖"，七集电视剧《虎距钟山》获得了全国“五个一工程”奖入选作品奖和第十七届中国电视“金鹰奖”优秀中篇电视剧奖，十九届全国电视剧“飞天奖”。
