平顶山教育电视台是河南省首家地市级教育电视台，全人播出17小时多，内容涉及新闻咨询、科学教育、生活服务、黄金剧场－,信号覆盖平顶山市所辖的十个县市区。开设有《鹰城教育》、《校园内外》、《少儿天地》、《名师名校》、《教育时空》、《关注成长》、《教研园地》、《阳光地带》、《健康之友》、《电视课堂》、《文艺星空》、《河南地方戏》、《教育影视》等栏目。
平顶山教育电视台是河南省首家市地级教育电视台，创建于1991年10月，于1992年元旦正式开播，并于2000年7月正式并入市有线电视网。自开播以来，得到了社会各界的支持和好评，并多次受到教育部和省教育厅的表彰。我台遵循"坚持社会主义方向，为各级各类教学服务，为提高民族文化素质服务，为发展和振兴平顶山经济再上新台阶服务"的办台宗旨，立足教育，面向社会，努力使其成为学生的良师、家长的益友、少儿的天地、老人的乐园、科技的窗口、知识的源泉。
