翡翠台（英文：TVB Jade），香港TVB电视台的旗舰频道，于1967年11月19日正式启播，是全球开播较早的华语电视频道之一。也是香港收视率最高的电视频道。频道主要以粤语播放，部份节目会利用丽音技术（模拟版本）或多重AC-3位流（数码版本）同时以其他语言同步播放。其节目包括新闻、电视剧、综艺、动画及时评访谈等多元化节目。翡翠台作为香港主要的中文电视频道之一，自开台以来一直播出不少影响香港流行文化的电视节目。
电视广播有限公司（Television Broadcasts Limited，英文简称：TVB；港交所编号：0511，OTCBB：TVBCY），是香港首间无线电视台；常简称为“无线电视”或“无线”，坊间又有“无记”、“三色台”之名。由利孝和、祁德尊、邵逸夫等人创办，其经营的免费中文电视频道翡翠台启播至今一直处于收视领导地位，是香港大众文化中重要的组成部份。此外无线的节目（尤其是电视剧）多为各地华人所熟悉甚至会传播到其他东南亚地区，成为认识香港文化的一个窗口。
