公司建设和运营的宽带IP城域网和Internet高速接入业务已于2003年元月份正式向市场推广，天威宽带以其高速和价廉的优势赢得用户的青睐，仅半年时间发展用户数近14000户。
按照深圳市"十五"国民经济和社会信息化规划，作为深圳信息化建设的主要设施之一，2002年，天威公司完成了对深圳有线电视网络的全面技术升级，在全国同行中率先建成了以860Mh为主体的优质网络，完善了网络双向改造，真正实现了集图像、数据、语音传输为一体的高速信息互换传输网。2013年9月，天威公司承担的深圳有线数字电视项目，成为经国家计委批准立项的国内第一个有线数字电视业务平台实验系统，列为国家试点项目。经过一年多的努力，已实现播出1套高清晰节目，93套数字电视节目。
2014年2月27日，经中国证监会上市公司并购重组委员会于2014年2月27日召开的2014年第11次并购重组委工作会议审核，公司发行股份购买资产事项获得无条件通过。[1]
2014年4月8日，天威视讯发布《发行股份购买资产暨关联交易报告书》修订案，将收购天隆、天宝有线电视网。
