康县隶属于甘肃省陇南市，位于甘肃省东南部、陇南市东南部，甘肃、四川、陕西三省交界地带。康县古称康州，北周置康州，后废并入武州（阶州），1929年置康县。康县下辖14镇、7乡，8个社区、350个行政村，总面积2958.46平方公里，总人口20.2万人（2015年）。
康县处西秦岭南侧陇南山中，境内海拔560-2483米之间，属亚热带向暖温带过渡区域，雨量充沛、气候湿润、光照充足，森林覆盖率达66.7%，被誉为“陇上江南”、“陇上西双版纳”。康县自然资源有水资源、生物资源、矿产资源等，2015年实现生产总值19.22亿元。
康县是“中国有机茶之乡”、“中国核桃之乡”、“中国黑木耳之乡”、“中国食用菌之乡”，名优特产有龙神茶、核桃、以康县黑木耳为代表的食用菌等。此外康县还是“中国绿色名县”、“中国最佳生态宜居旅游目的地”、“中国最美绿色生态旅游名县”，境内有阳坝亚热带生态旅游风景区、花桥村、白云山森林公园等景区。
