贵阳电视台成立于1985年，2001年5月根据国家广电总局的有关精神与贵阳有线电视台合并，现开办了五个频道的电视节目：一频道为新闻综合频道，二频道为经济生活频道，三频道为法制频道，四、五频道定位为都市频道和旅游生活频道。五个频道都先后进入了省、市有线电视传输网络。其中一频道还通过无线方式传输信号。全台从业人员415人，在编职工159人，聘用和临时用工人员有256人;具有高、中级职称的有98人。
贵阳电视台4频道都市频道，贵阳四套都市频道定位为贵阳市民自己的影视频道。以都市男女为主要传播对象，在每年市场份额不断攀升，一个观众已经形成收视习惯，极具影响力的频道。
