福建省广播影视集团电视体育频道（以下简称“体育频道”）的前身是福建电视台体育频道（TV8），成立于1994年，是我国最早的专业体育电视媒体之一，也是省内唯一的专业体育电视媒体。频道拥有专业的赛事转播团队、新闻报道团队、宣传策划团队、广告营销团队，可以为赛事及活动组织者提供“商业推广——新闻造势——宣传包装策划——赛事直播”的一条路服务，全方位打造品牌赛事（活动）。2015年，以承担我省承办第一届全国青年运动会的省内官方电视直播频道为契机，体育频道已初步完成了电视制作设备的全高清改造。
