湘潭电视台公共都市频道是隶属于湘潭广播电视台,独立运作的综合性的电视媒体,是服务于市场经济、服务于都市大众生活的专业电视频道.湘潭电视台公共都市频道秉持"关注民生、情感生活"的定位,节目由新闻、专题、文艺、经济、服务和编辑类节目及各种丰富多彩的活动和特别节目共同组成,频道的名牌栏目有民生新闻《都是日记》、情感专题《身边》和生活经济类的专栏,在央视索福瑞收视调查统计中,湘潭公共都市频道的夜间收视率和收视份额常年稳居台属各媒体前列.
《都市日记》栏目成立于2000年1月27日,是湖南省内较早开班的民事新闻栏目.也是湘潭公共都市频道坚持办了二十年的自办品牌节目,栏目一直遵循本土化、主题型、专业化、板块化、系列化的节目制作思路.2011年栏目获得湖南省优秀广播电视栏目三等奖.2012年3月,频道完成了新闻演播室的机房改造,同时推出了全新的栏目包装,栏目依照民生情感定位,下设有《今日头条》、《绝对现场》、《真相调查》、《情感110》等板块.
《身边》栏目与2006年开播,是一档日播情感专题栏目,以讲述老百姓的故事为主要内容,7年来广获大众好评,荣获第一届"纪录·中国"铜牌栏目奖.2013年3月,《身边》全新改版,以深度报道为主,关注社会民生,舆论热点,微观事件真相,一探背后成因,弘扬人间正义,展现社会温情.
《情感剧场》紧紧围绕频道定位,主打"情感"平拍,网罗众多精彩、好看的家庭伦理剧、情感生活剧、年代家族剧,让观众在缠绵动人的情感纠纷中感受不一样的悲欢离合和甜酸苦辣.精彩的剧集成功吸引了一大批忠实的受众,是提高收视率的一道有力屏障.2013年《情感剧场》依旧延续"情感"路线,每晚20:15——22:30 连播三集,精彩的剧集将为观众烹饪出一道道丰盛的晚间电视剧大餐.
