邵阳电视台于1986年开播。现有电视频道4套：邵阳新闻综合频道，邵阳公共频道。
邵阳电视台新闻综合频道：(时称：邵阳电视台)1986年建台就开始播出。2000年至2004年使用邵阳时政频道的称呼播出!2005年开始正式使用新闻综合频道的称呼播出。《邵阳新闻联播》(时称：《邵阳新闻》)是邵阳广播电视台创办最早的首档电视新闻栏目。栏目主要报道重要时政新闻、重大社会新闻，并注重新闻资讯报道和舆论监督，是展示邵阳良好形象的重要窗口，是发布政务信息的重要阵地，是传递百姓声音的重要平台，是加快发展的竞技场、项目建设的直播间、绩效考核的主阵地。建台初期每周一、三、五20：00首播，每周二、四、六20：00重播。
新闻综合频道口号：2008年---2010年：主频道，新形象。2014年7月---至今：新闻旗舰，权威发声。
