2021年1月24日（即2021年亚洲青年运动会开幕倒计时300天），汕头电视台公共频道更名为文旅体育频道。
汕头电视台三套影视文艺频道以电视剧及文艺类节目为主打节目，其中《潮艺大观》、《综艺畅享》，让人感受潮汕本土带来的风味及电视剧带来的痛快。该频道在汕头全市及潮州市、揭阳市大部分地区、福建省东南部的部分地区和深圳市播出。

汕头电视台是粤东地区最大的电视台，规模及技术设备居全国地市级电视台前列。汕头广播电视中心位于汕头市区西侧，占地面积38.6亩，总建筑面积32000平方米，总投资逾2.3亿元，由广播电视发射塔、中心综合大楼、综合剧场和其它配套设施构成，集广播电视采编、制作、播控、传输和综艺演出、办公管理于一体，是汕头市精神文明建设标志性工程之一。
汕头电视台拥有新闻综合频道、经济生活频道、影视文艺频道、资讯频道、数字电视导视频道、澄海频道、潮阳频道、潮南频道八套频道，其中前五个频道为台本部负责，后三个台为下辖电视台负责，其重点是汕头电视台新闻综合频道。
