Проект реализуется, чтобы объединить информационное пространство всего федерального округа. Регистрация нового средства массовой информации состоялась 11 апреля 2022 года. 19 мая была предоставлена универсальная лицензия на осуществление телевизионного вещания телеканала. Начало вещание с 24 августа 2022 года
Творческий контент на новом канале будут создавать все десять сибирских филиалов ВГТРК: "Алтай", "Горный Алтай", "Иркутск", "Иртыш", "Красноярск", "Кузбасс", "Новосибирск", "Томск", "Тыва" и "Хакасия".
В настоящее время вещание канала "Сибирь 24" ведётся в тестовом режиме на странице сайта Вестинск.рф в разделе "Трансляции", но уже он вышел на федеральной медиаплатформе "Смотрим".
26.04.2023 года стал обязательным муниципальным телеканалом в Новосибирске, вещание ведётся на 22 кнопке.
